Welcome to the AT&F Bulletin
Board, information on firearms and related issues.
The AT&F Bulletin
Board
We plan to use the AT&F Bulletin Board to dispense information on firearms,
security, and industry related issues as well as things happening with AT&F. If
you have any information to contribute please make sure that it is vetted and
attributable and we will try to include it in the bulletin. Please send your
contribution via e-mail in Word or PDF format.
Ammunition
Shortage Explained
A number of our customers have asked about the availability, or the lack, of
ammunition. Mr. George Petronis, an ammunition distributor, has offered the best
explanation of the current ammunition situation in
“Factors Contributing to the Ammunition Shortage”, which he allowed us to
make available to you. He had originally written it to explain the situation to
our law enforcement customers, and you will see that when you read it, but we
discussed the fact that this would be helpful to all of our customers and he
agreed to share it on the AT&F website bulletin board.
Farewell to Our
Friends Randy Mays and Mack Elliot
This is not what I expected to be writing about in our first bulletin but out of
friendship and respect I am taking this opportunity to bid farewell to
Randy Mays and Mack
Elliot, two friends of the shooting community and a personal friend of
ours, Randy Mays. I met both of these fine gentlemen through the Piedmont NRA
Instructors organization of Northern Virginia.
They were both instructors of mine and mentors as I progressed to become an
instructor. They were always supportive and available for advice. Though we did
not keep in touch as much as we had in the past I always knew that they were
there. It is difficult to believe that they are gone. Randy went first in
September and Mack shortly thereafter in November. It is impossible to know the
impact people have on each others’ lives as we make our journey I doubt that
either Randy or Mack had any idea how they impacted my life. I know that they
were not aware of AT&F or the website. I had planned to surprise them with it,
but it took too long to finish and they both left us far too soon. In a way, if
it were not for them, I may not have gone into this business, and this website
would not be here. So this is my way of acknowledging them and to saying
“farewell.”
